Summer Care Through Ayurveda with Cecilia Fernandez

Summer Care Through Ayurveda
A Seasonal Workshop to Stay Cool, Nourished & Balanced
Saturday June 27th 2026 2 – 5 pm
at our studio in South Berkeley
Summer brings warmth, brightness, and expansion—but also intensity.
Longer days, stronger sun, and increased activity can begin to build heat in the body and mind.
In Ayurveda, this season is governed by Pitta dosha—the energy of fire and transformation.
When supported, Pitta gives us clarity, strong digestion, and focused energy.
When it becomes excessive, we may experience irritability, overheating, inflammation, or burnout.
This workshop is an invitation to slow down, tune in, and learn how to care for yourself in alignment with the season.
Together, we will explore Ayurveda in a way that is both practical and experiential—so you can feel and understand what your body truly needs during the summer months.
In this workshop, you will:
- Understand Pitta dosha and its subtypes, and how they show up uniquely in your body and mind
- Explore the gunas (qualities) of summer and how they influence your daily experience
- Learn how to cool and nourish the body through simple meals, herbs, and teas
- Discover hydration as a ritual of care, not just something to check off your list
- We’ll explore what an Ayurvedic meal looks like in the summer season, and how to prepare simple, balanced meals that feel supportive—whether you are cooking just for yourself or sharing food with others.
- Create your own personal summer health intention through guided reflection and creative expression
This will be a hands-on sensory experience! Not just a lecture.
You’ll be guided through simple, engaging activities to help you:
- Recognize patterns in your own body
- Connect with what balance feels like
- Leave with tools you can actually use in your daily life
You will leave with:
- A deeper understanding of how to work with (not against) summer energy
- Personalized insights into your Pitta tendencies
- Simple practices for food, herbs, and daily rhythm
- A clear and grounded seasonal self-care intention
This workshop is open to anyone seeking to deepen their understanding of Ayurveda and ready to adopt practices to support personal wellbeing and health.
