A special in-person workshop with Deborah Saliby using the rope wall.
Do you feel you carry the weight of the world on your shoulders?
There is indeed a lot resting on our shoulders – especially these days as we recover from the pandemic and all the changes it’s brought about. Come take a load off! We will use the rope wall and other props to open the upper body and reduce pain.
In this special workshop, Deborah will share basic shoulder movements using the ropes and then move into an active practice to help strengthen and create space in the body. By creating traction using the ropes wall, the neck and upper spine will be supported in proper alignment for its natural curve.
This workshop will focus on corrective rotations for the shoulder joints, releasing tight muscles while strengthening others to support healthy shoulders. Deborah will teach you a greater awareness through particular movements in your neck and shoulders, help you release built-up tensions and stress and enable you to feel more at ease and comfortable in your body and mind.
Who is this program for? It is best for students who some yoga experience. It is wonderful for anyone who feels general stiffness and occasional pain due to compressions and minor misalignment. It is also suitable for those wanting to learn basic movements and strength building so they don’t injure themselves. If you have major injuries, torn rotator cuff, dislocation, even frozen shoulder, private 1-on-1 lessons with Deborah would be best, not this workshop.
In-Person at Adeline Yoga: This workshop will be held in-person at our studio in Berkeley.
