Preparation for Pranayama: 3 Day Immersion – Free

October 12, 2022 @ 7:00 am - October 14, 2022 @ 8:00 am

Pranayama Iyengar Yoga Online workshop

Preparation for Pranayama:

3 day Yoga & Pranayama Immersion

with Kim Kolibri

3 Mornings of Practice: Wed October 12 – Friday October 14
at 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM PST. Online

In this series we will look at the poses that are most helpful for preparing for pranayama. They include active poses and supportive, restorative poses.

The benefits of pranayama are potent: providing emotional support and clarity of mind. Pranayama gets you away from your devices, helping you start your day from a place of connection and stillness. A daily practice of pranayama gives you a well of inner support which you can use to navigate your days skillfully.

Here is your starting point for learning the Iyengar Yoga approach to pranayama and meditation. Each class will include asana and pranayama. In the asana portion we will look at how specific props in asana can support your pranayama practice. And, we will explore a variety of pranayama set ups so you can see which ones are best for you.

This immersion is progressive and interactive, so please attend live every day if you can.

The series requires you to have specific props: 4 blankets, 2 bricks, a strap and a chair. If you don’t have a yoga chair that is ok! Please have two regular chairs of the same size.

This series is best for people who have studied asana with a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher for at least 6 months. No previous pranayama experience needed.

We will work with BKS Iyengar’s book Light on Pranayama. Local students can buy a copy here to pick up at our Berkeley studio.
