Yoga Fundamentals with Anneke Faas

Tuesdays in person from 7:30 – 8:45 pm – starts October 4!
This 4-session series is specially designed for beginners.
Over these four sessions you will learn the foundations of Iyengar Yoga. You will learn poses to help you build strength and flexibility. And you will learn how to make use of basic props that help you achieve alignment between your body and breath. Simple props can help you have a great yoga practice. These props include blocks, belts and our rope wall. Yes, Anneke will show you the ropes 😊.
Yoga Fundamentals is designed for total beginners and students who want a better understanding of the foundational poses of Iyengar yoga. All body types and abilities are encouraged to join us. Anneke can offer you alternatives and modifications so the practice meets your needs and interests.
Each 75-minute session will build upon the prior class in a progressive manner. You will get the most out of the classes if you attend them all. Upon completion of the series, you will be prepared to enter Level I classes.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Anneke Faas is a certified Iyengar yoga instructor at the Intermediate Junior 2 level and a Certified Yoga Therapist (c-IAYT). She became a devoted practitioner at the age of 14, and a yoga teacher in college. Yoga continues to support her through many stages of life. Anneke has a knack for relating yoga to everyday living – using it as a tool to bring balance and meaning to students’ lives. As a teacher, Anneke has a warm presence and directs her classes with ease and careful focus. Beginners love Anneke’s fun classes! Her love of yoga philosophy and chant shines through in her work with intermediate students. She also offers expertise to pregnant and post-natal mothers. Anneke loves being in nature with her family. You will find her camping in the mountains with her children, or playing in the ocean during her free time.
