Build your Immune System with Asana And Ayurveda

February 29, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Build your Immune System with Asana And Ayurveda

Yoga and its sister science Ayurveda offer us many practices to support our immune system during seasonal changes. Join Francesca Nicosia and Katarina Rock for this special day so that you can learn ways to bolster your immune system and increase your resilience during the winter months.

1 – 3 pm:  Asana Class

Francesca’s class will focus on restorative yoga. You will learn how to work with bolsters, blankets and your body to nourish your nervous system and strengthen your vitality.

3 pm:  Tea Break

3: 30 – 5 pm:  Ayurveda Lecture

Katharina will give a talk on how to apply basic Ayurvedic principles and practices for immune support including food, lifestyle, and herbs. In this talk we will explore how to live and stay in balance in the Kapha season of the year. We’ll learn about the concept of ojas – which translates to our immune strength both physically and mentally – and how to keep it strong through food and lifestyle. Katharina will as well introduce some herbal support for selected issues commonly occurring in the early spring.

The asana practice is best suited to those with at least 6 months consistent yoga practice.

The talk is open to all levels. No experience needed.
