A talk with Kiran Nigam, NTC
hosted by Kim Healey
While many people come to yoga to get more flexible, others come to yoga to better understand their own bendy-ness. Some may experience being “double jointed” or feel like their joints “bend backwards”? These are typical signs of hypermobility.
This chit chat will offer an orientation to hypermobility and a discussion about its implications for your health and well being. We will talk about nutrition, pain management, lifestyle approaches and other considerations that go beyond the yoga practice. And perhaps most importantly this will be a session offering listening, support, and validation for those with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and others seeking support with hypermobility.
As a practitioner living with hEDS, Kiran comes to this work with the belief that your bendy body is whole. They offer this workshop as a small salve to the isolation, pain and inadequate medical care many people with EDS/HSD experience, with the hope of connecting you to tools and community on your journey.
