Chair Yoga: In-person with Shari Ser

Chair Yoga with Shari Ser
A monthly class in person
On a Sunday from 3 – 4:15 pm:
April 26
May 17
June 28
Chairs offer a supported and accessible approach to yoga practice. Using a chair as a primary prop to bring stability, clarity, and ease to each pose. It is not a “lesser” practice—it is a precise and intelligent way of working that can deepen awareness and refine action.
Postures are adapted so that students can experience the essential shape and intention of each asana with less strain. The chair helps to improve balance, and create space in the body, making the practice suitable for those recovering from injury, navigating fatigue, or simply seeking a more supported experience.
At the same time, yoga with a chair can be surprisingly challenging. With the support of the chair, we are able to stay longer, observe more closely, and work with greater sensitivity. This often reveals new pathways of strength, mobility, and understanding.
This class invites a steady, attentive practice—one that meets you where you are and helps you move toward greater integration, stability, and ease.
This will be a covid cautious monthly yoga class. Shari will bring high quality KN 95 masks for students that choose to wear one. Shari herself will be masked teaching the class. Masking is a way to continue to take care of our community especially our older and immunocompromised students who may be missing the availability of in person covid safer group classes.
We plan this class to happen once a month, on a Sunday 3 – 4:15 pm. Register for each one individually.
Who is this class for?
Mobile people who want to use a chair as a primary prop to aid in a practice either due to age, debility, surgical recovery, balance or chronic illness. You must be able to independently get up and down from the floor. Some experience with yoga would be helpful.
