Let’s talk about the role of Iyengar Yoga in our lives and in our communities, as it continues to evolve. How do we engage and inspire the next generation of practitioners and teachers? What do we hope to see? Gwi-Seok will share stories of Iyengar Yoga in Detroit, and invite others to share their own community stories of the next generation of Iyengar Yoga.
We will discuss:
– In what ways can Iyengar Yoga evolve? What aspects of Iyengar Yoga in the USA seem outdated, no longer relevant, or even harmful?
– What would we love to see in Iyengar Yoga in the USA in 5 years, 10 years, 20 years?
– What is the core of Iyengar Yoga that we wish to retain – are obliged to retain – always?
– What’s happening in our local communities that reflects and embodies the evolution and progression of Iyengar Yoga?
We invite Iyengar Yoga students and teachers throughout the country to participate in this discussion.
Gwi-Seok will offer an asana based workshop early in the day exploring Somatic Particularity. Click here for those details.
