Introduction to Ayurveda – establishing healthy habits

Your daily routines can boost the health of your body and mind. Ayurveda, Indian’s ancient medicinal science, offers many routines that will help you achieve optimal health while honoring your connection to nature. In this workshop, Jessie Holland will teach simple and effective tools that can easily be incorporated into your daily routine to optimize your sense of well-being.
This class will be an interactive lecture style, come dressed to sit comfortably.

This is the 2nd workshop in a 2-part series, and a key part of the Sadhana Studies program.

About the Instructor:
Jessie Holland is a certified Iyengar yoga instructor, emphasizing precise alignment, and sustained reflection on the connection of the body, mind and breath. She has been teaching Iyengar Yoga for 15 years. She is also a Licensed Acupuncturist, Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist and Pancha Karma Specialist. She teaches Iyengar yoga at studios throughout the East Bay. She has attended both a 200 and 500 hour Iyengar teacher training, studied with the Iyengars in India, and completed clinical Ayurvedic internships with Dr. Vasant Lad. Jessie offers Ayurvedic consultations to explore diet and lifestyle choices for optimum health, and a variety of Ayurvedic body therapies, including abhyanga and shirodhara. She also leads clients through PanchaKarma, the Ayurvedic cleansing procedure. Additionally, Jessie offers Acupuncture and Chinese medicine treatments, where she uses a variety of techniques including Acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping and massage to balance body and mind.
