February 26, 2016 @ 6:00 pm
In this first course in the series, Heather will review the history of the Yoga Sutras and the legends behind the author, Patanjali. You will be introduced to basic Sanskrit pronunciation and learn to chant the Invocation to Patanjali with joy and confidence. You will walk away with an understanding of the importance of the Yoga Sutras to the practice of modern yoga and a burning desire to study them.
We will welcome guest instructor Shanta Bulkin of the East-West Institute to help us with our Sanskrit pronunciation. Shanta has been studying Sanskrit since 1974, and teaching the subject for twenty years. He is the main Sanskrit Instructor at Mount Madonna.
