Fridays 10 – 11:15 am starts February 26th
This 6-session series is specially designed for beginners to yoga who are 50+. It is held live-online via Zoom. You will learn the foundations of Iyengar Yoga to help build strength and flexibility, develop your balance and bone strength. And relieve stress! Designed for total beginners and students who want a better understanding of the foundational poses of Iyengar Yoga.
Each 75-minute session will build upon the prior class in a progressive manner. You will get the most out of the classes if you attend them all. We will send out the recording each week so you can practice with it at home.
This series is best suited to those who are 50+ and ambulatory. You should be able to get up and down from the floor on your own, using a chair if needed. Upon completion of the series, you will be prepared to participate in the Yoga for Seniors and Yoga for Healthy Aging classes.
Deborah will teach you how to use common household items as supports, answer your questions and guide you how to practice between sessions with the recordings.

This 6 for $78 pass is offered at a special discount and is good only for this Fundamentals series. Anyone may purchase this specially priced package, one time only. Drop-ins are allowed to this class. Students may also use any regular class pass or fundamentals pass to attend.
There are no makeups offered for this series. We will make a recording of each session for you to use during the week.
Approximately one hour prior to class you will receive a unique zoom log-in and specific instructions to login to your class. If you don’t get it, please check your spam box. You can email firstname.lastname@example.org if there are any issues finding your zoom link.
Please make sure to be in class 10 minutes before each class. You will need that time to check in with the teacher and get settled in.

Deborah Saliby is a Certified Iyengar Yoga teacher (C-IYT and C-IAYT) and has been teaching Iyengar yoga for almost 40 years. A graduate of the Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco, she studies regularly with Senior teachers and attends Iyengar conventions. Her classes are balanced and integrated, leaving students with greater energy, emotional stability and a renewed sense of well-being. Deborah also teaches private sessions by appointment for those wanting specific therapeutic attention, for example back care, mobility issues, strength building, postural alignment, pain and stress relief, whatever the needs. She specializes in yoga for back care and yoga for pregnancy and postpartum and is a hypnotherapist and hypnoBirthing instructor. Deborah is a retired special education teacher. When not teaching yoga, she can be found on long walks with her dog and gatherings with family and friends.
