Uplift & Refresh Yourself with the Power of Backbends

Sunday, September 26th: 1 – 3:30 pm PST on Zoom

with Anneke Faas

Backbends open the body and create joy. As we exit the summer season and head into autumn, we will need to harness the capacity to keep our heads up and hearts open. Uplifting the spine and giving support to the heart is the foundation to back extensions.

In this workshop, we will explore the poses that prepare you for backbends. You will learn the important steps that lead to backbends, modifications for different body types, and how to practice them at home.

Intermediate students will have an opportunity to solidify their knowledge and explore more advanced versions of these asanas with this afternoon of intensive study.

This class is appropriate for level 2 Iyengar Yoga students who are ready to explore level 2 & 3 poses and delve deeper into understanding backbends.
