In summer, the body can become overheated and dry.
The ancient traditions of Ayurveda offers us ways to stay cool, calm, hydrated, and feeling our best.
Indeed, Ayurveda recommends adapting our daily routine for each season. This workshop will teach you many important adaptations for this summer solstice time of year.
Join us to learn practical ways to structure your daily life and its rhythms. We will talk about the foods and drinks that support seasonal wellness, self-care rituals, skin care recipes, and yoga practices that balance the body and mind. Participants will also learn home remedies for the common seasonal ailments including sunburn, diarrhea, fatigue, dehydration, insect bites, and indigestion.

This unique workshop will be dynamic. There will be a presentation on key concepts and interactive discussion. Then we will have asana practice and time to connect with other people who are seeking to incorporate Ayurvedic wisdom into their lives.
This workshop is open to anyone seeking to deepen their understanding of Ayurveda and ready to adopt practices to support personal wellbeing and health. Basic knowledge of Ayurveda is helpful, but not required.

Sandy Lamerson (she/her) is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher, Ayurvedic Health Counselor and meditation practitioner. Sandy began her yoga and meditation practice in 2005. She trained and worked at the Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco since 2014. She is a graduate of Kerala Ayurveda Academy’s Ayurvedic Health Counselor program and is currently completing her Ayurvedic Practitioner level training.
Sandy has lived and practiced at Buddhist meditation centers in the US and Asia for many years. Her work with the wisdom and compassion practices offered through Buddhism inspires her deepest intention of waking up and transforming suffering – her own and others. Sandy provides a welcoming environment for all to experience the benefits of yoga. Her knowledge of Ayurveda informs her approach and ability to offer practices tailored to the individual, time and season. As a new mother, Sandy also offers pre- and post-natal yoga support to parents.
