Two Sundays: July 19th and 26th from 12:45 – 2:45
The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali begin with the sanskrit word “atha” which means “now”. This has threefold significance; historical as per tradition, psychological and spiritual. The idea of time is carried further in the next few sutras. Careful study of this TIME element helps reveal underlying meaning of the sutras. We will examine some of these factors to see how they apply to our lives today. We will also study the format and definition of “sutra” to find how to apply that to the daily life. We will also see how to apply the second sutra to the daily life. Students will be expected to undertake some homework assignment to fully benefit from the teaching.
You do NOT need any prior experience to attend. If you have a favorite translation of the Yoga Sutras, please feel free to bring it with you.
