You may have already heard that the InstaPot is a Yoga Practitioners most important kitchen appliance.   But how?  Come cook dinner with Heather and learn all the tricks of the trade.

In this quick 1-hour demonstration class Heather will share her favorite ways to make breakfast, lunch, dinner AND dessert in the instantpot.  After she shares her tips, we will cook a favorite yogi dinner together: kitchary

This class will focus on simple every day foods you can prepare for yourself and your family.  We will cover a variety of meals and techniques.  It will help you will feel confident in starting to master the Art of Instant Pot Cooking.

If you don’t have an instapot, no problem!  This is a demonstration class so you can learn a lot by watching.

This class is very special as Heather rarely teaches cooking classes.  Join us for this fun and informative session focused on her favorite kitchen tool

Recordings will be available to anyone who registers – for 14 days after each session.

If you want to cook along with Heather, gather the following ingredients for your kitchary:

  • 1 cup yellow mung means
  • 1/2 cup of your favorite rice
  • vegetable broth (low sodium is best)
  • 1 tablespoon curry powder or Ayurvedic spice mix (below)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups of your favorite vegetables.  Broccoli, cauliflower and chard could be a good start.

Ayurvedic Spice Mixture : 1 part turmeric, 1 part cumin, 1 parts coriander, 1 part fennel, 1/2 part fenugreek.  Grind together and keep in a jar. 

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:

Heather Haxo Phillips is Director of Adeline Yoga and a certified Iyengar yoga instructor at the Senior Intermediate I (Level 3).

Prior to running Adeline Yoga she owned her own cooking school!  Heather is a graduate of culinary school with many years of experience in the food industry.  In addition Heather was the lead cooking class instructor for Cafe Gratitude and Whole Foods.

Heather has a deep commitment to the ancient teachings which includes mantra sadhana (chanting) and Sanskrit, pranayama and yoga philosophy.  You can expect to find aspects of this in all of Heather’s classes. Heather studies regularly with senior Iyengar teachers, Sanskrit and Vedic scholars, and directly with the Iyengar family in Pune India. Heather is past President of the Board of Directors for the Iyengar Yoga Association of Northern California and an active volunteer for the Iyengar Yoga National Association of the United States.  Heather is on the board of the Lorin Merchants Association (LBA).
