Headstand Basics with Kim

May 10 @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Headstand is considered the father of all poses.  It promotes mental clarity and emotional balance. And, its fun!

When you are first learning headstand it is both an exhilarating and intimidating pose.  As you develop your knowledge and confidence, you will find that headstand is truly one of your best friends for life.  Headstand will loyally serve you through thick and thin, helping to bring balance on days when you are feeling upside down and inviting quiet when you are already feeling right side up.

Come join Kim to learn all about it.

In this workshop, we will explore poses to prepare you for headstand and learn the anatomy of the headstand.  With a progressive sequence, you will also learn what it takes to balance away from the wall.

What you can expect:

By the end of this workshop you will know the important steps that lead to a headstand and how to practice it with modifications. There will be time to ask questions and address your doubts so that you can practice headstand with confidence at home and at the studio.

Who this is for:

This workshop is geared towards students with at least six months of study in Iyengar yoga. Prior experience with headstand is NOT required. If you are attending our foundations or continuing beginner classes, this is a perfect workshop for you.  Those in the intermediate classes or on a track for Iyengar Yoga teacher education will benefit too.

The workshop will be held in person at Adeline Yoga Studio in Berkeley, CA.
