Caring for Your Neck and Shoulder Pain with Sachiko Willis

July 13 @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Saturday, July 13th
from 2 – 4:30 pm
with Sachiko Willis

There is really nobody in our modern culture who doesn’t experience some neck and shoulder tension. It can turn into a chronic problem that not only causes headaches, jaw tension, etc, but also deeply affects our sense of well-being. Yoga practice can give us a tool box with which we can start to find relief, mobility, strength and stability.

In this workshop, Sachiko will guide you in exploring ways to adapt, modify, and adjust basic yoga asanas so you can develop a well-rounded yoga practice to manage and prevent pain. We will use props such as belts, chair and wall ropes to support us and help us cultivate deeper insight into the inner workings of the shoulders, neck and the rest of the body.

Who is this program for? It is best for students who have some yoga experience. It is wonderful for anyone who feels stiffness and pain due to minor injuries or wear-and-tear. It is also suitable for those wanting to learn basic movements and strength building so they don’t injure themselves. If you have major injuries or any questions, please contact Sachiko before registering.

This workshop is open to all levels of students.  It is in-person at our Berkeley studio.
