New Year’s Day Workshop
January 1, 2016 from noon to 2:15 pm
with Heather Haxo Phillips
New Year is a time of renewal and reflection. It can be a time to let go of what is no longer serving us and make space for new energy and opportunities to emerge. This New Year’s Day workshop will be an opportunity for reflection, setting intentions, creating positive habits and enjoying the bounty of life!
One of our inspirations will be the elephant-headed Ganesh who is known as the remover of obstacles and the deity to invoke for any new beginnings. He can be a wonderful friend for all of us when setting new year’s resolutions. You can call upon Ganesh to help remove any ‘obstacles’ from your path in order to help you achieve resolution, and to make the year ahead run a little more smoothly. In this workshop, we will bring Ganesh into our hearts and minds through asana, pranayama (breath awareness) and chant.
Join us for a rejuvenating, fortifying and well-rounded practice of yoga on January 1st. You will have an opportunity to set an intention for the coming year, if you like. You will have an opportunity to make an offering to both the old and the new – that which you want to let go of and move towards.
This will be an ALL LEVELS workshop open to all.
Afterwards we will enjoy homemade chai and ladoo, Ganesh’s favorite dessert!
