Join Cynthia Bates and Scott Tusa on a daylong exploration of building friendliness and connection with ourselves and others through the practice of Compassion. The day will include a mixture of yoga, meditation instruction, practice and Q&A/discussion. Open to all. The yoga portion is for all levels. No experience with meditation required.
Drop-ins are welcome.
Cynthia Bates is a seasoned Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher (CIYT) at the Intermediate Junior II level. Her goal as a teacher of yoga is singular, to inspire transformational experiences that lead to positive life change. For Cynthia, injury, illness and trauma can all be used as a skillful means for spiritual practice. She is a devoted student of Manouso Manos, Victoria Austin, B.K.S. Iyengar and the Iyengar family with whom she had the honor of studying with in India in 2010, 2012 and 2014. She furthers her education by assisting Manouso Manos weekly in public classes and participating in specialized yoga therapeutics training with Manouso Manos and Lois Steinberg.

Scott Tusa (Tenzin Namsel) is a Buddhist teacher and musician. He teaches Buddhism and meditation classes, workshops, and retreats nationally and supports Tsoknyi Rinpoche’s Pundarika Sangha as a practice advisor.
Scott trained as a Buddhist monastic in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition for nine years, and has developed his Buddhist studies and practice under an array of well-respected Tibetan Buddhist masters and in a variety of solitary meditation retreats since his early twenties.
Through his down to earth approach and humor, Scott makes meditation more approachable and acts as a bridge for modern spiritual seekers.
