This workshop is open to anyone interested in learning Iyengar yoga therapy for the knee joint. Participants will learn how to work with knee injuries from managing acute pain to rehabilitating strength and mobility in the hips, knees and ankles.
This workshop is a regional event hosted by the Iyengar Yoga Association of Northern California and held at Adeline Yoga Studio in Berkeley.
Recommended: A minimum of 3 months regular Iyengar yoga study. The class will go from 1 – 6 pm and includes a 15 minute break.
Lois Steinberg is one of the world’s most experienced Certified Iyengar Yoga Teachers. Lois is an Advanced Junior 2 Certified Iyengar Yoga instructor with over 35 years of study, practice, and teaching experience. This Advanced level certificate has been awarded directly by BKS Iyengar to only three practitioners in North America. Her extensive studentship with the Iyengars includes annual participation in the general and medical classes at RIMYI.
Lois is based in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois where she is director of Iyengar Yoga Champaign Urbana. Lois’ teaching is infused with enthusiasm to share the knowledge and acumen that have come through her sustained practice and study of the tremendous work of BKS Iyengar and his family. She is widely respected for her knowledge of therapeutics and is co-investigator on several research projects to determine the efficacy of Iyengar Yoga in treating chronic conditions. Her understanding of the relationships between asana and health is among her many gifts as an instructor, as is her desire and capacity to attend to the needs of individual students.
