Yogis intuitively know that the practice of asana deepens spiritual understanding – but how? The Bhagavad Gita is an ancient text that is a powerful tool for investigating the dynamics of yogic practice.
In our first Gita session, we will give a history and synopsis of the text. You will learn why it is India’s most beloved spiritual story – and why it has relevance to modern people today. This session will be especially helpful for beginners – you will learn important terms and a context for understanding the book.
Session two will cover a central theme of the Gita: Skill in Action. Why is intention so key to action? And what does it mean to be skillful? How do we bring “skill in action” to our yoga poses and our life?
In this workshop we do a careful reading of the Gita, explore learned commentary, and enjoy discussion in an informal atmosphere.
