When you are visiting our studio, you are likely to get hungry! Or maybe you need a place to stay?
We have lots of options for caffeine, food and places to stay. The neighborhood is evolving, with new places popping up all the time. Here are some of our favorites:
EASY WALKING DISTANCE – just down the block
Sweet Adeline Bakeshop – honestly once of the best sweet shops in all the East Bay! Its just a few doors down. The yogis like their small chocolate cookies and ginger cookies – 3 for $1 is perfect with your tea
Alchemy Collective – Our haven for the serious coffee drinkers. Get there early enough in the day and you can check out their unique snacks too.
Rasa Cafe – homemade Indian Chai + Signature Coffee + Vegan Donuts!
Giin Thai Canteen – Genuine Thai Street Food
Easy Creole – large portions of Cajun delights, always with a vegetarian option. Tell them Adeline sent ya and see what happens.
A LITTLE FARTHER WALKING DISTANCE – 10 – 15 min away
Actual Cafe – tons of lunch and dinner options, great beverages of all kinds.
Herbavore – part of the local chain of vegan restaurants. Its great for yogis because they offer a lot of juices and an extensive menus. Check out the vegan shwarma!
Berkeley Bowl – the best grocery store in all of the Bay Area and maybe even the world. Has a full service deli and lunch counter. Both locations are close. The Shattuck location – Berkeley Bowl East – is easily walkable, about 15 min away. There is a second location off San Pablo – Berkeley Bowl West – which is larger with a more comfortable sitting area.
PLACES TO STAY
Air B&B offers lots of options within walking distance. Check out this option – owner Rebecca Sibrack is an Adeline student and you can let her know Adeline sent ya’.
The Rose Garden Inn is the closest actual B & B to us – about a 7 minute drive. Its a historic property, beloved by UC Berkeley students and their parents.
You will find plenty of options near Berkeley’s Downtown such as Hotel Shattuck Plaza and the French Hotel which are a short BART ride away. Or check out Oakland’s downtown which as the chain hotels like the Marriott.
