One of the primary reasons to study the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali is to healthfully question the way we go about our daily lives and interact with the world around us.
According to Patanjali, the asana practice is only one part of a holistic approach to life. To live life fully, inquiry and self-study is required. Join us for a group discussion on the core concepts of the Sutras, such as the yamas and niyamas, obstacles and much more.
Each meeting will focus on a specific concept and several sutras. You will learn to chant and delve into Sanskrit vocabulary.
This gathering is part of the Sadhana Studies Program, though anyone can participate. Please bring a copy of the Yoga Sutras. We will be working from BKS Iyengar’s “Light on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali” and Gitte Bechsgaard’s “Gift of Consciousness”
Each gathering will stand alone, though the the concepts will build on each other. Please attend as many as you can.
Drop-ins are welcome. All levels of experience and practice are welcome!
