Yamas are universal ethical disciplines, while Niyamas are personal observances. Together, they form the first and second limbs of the 8 limbs of Ashtanga yoga, the practice that unites so many of us. We often come to yoga for various physical reasons—whether to build strength and flexibility, aid in recovery from injury, or find relief from stress, tension, and pain.
This series builds on the foundation of our physical practice by delving deeper into how we can embody principles like nonviolence, truthfulness, and contentment. By exploring these principles, we go beyond physical well-being to cultivate healing on a soul level. This journey not only transforms how we show up for ourselves but also how we connect and interact with others. It changes not just the way we engage in the communal space of the yoga studio, but how we approach every aspect of our lives.
This special series will include asana and yoga philosophy discussion.
