People who have anxiety are very good at creating strategies for coping with feelings of fear and being out of control. Healthy coping mechanisms like exercise, taking a hot bath and even yoga asana practice, help deal with anxiety that is currently being felt. However, they are short-term solutions. When we expand our practice of yoga to include work on the breath and study of our self through the philosophy and mindfulness, we can begin to observe and attend to the roots of our anxiety and fears with equanimity.
This workshop will include a combination of yoga asana (postures), breath awareness and yogic philosophy practices designed to help lessen the detrimental effects of anxiety.
The workshop is open to all practitioners of yoga. It is not meant to be definitive, but instead to offer the seeds of transformation, from anxiety to confidence.
Workshop size will be limited to 22 participants.
