Within the Iyengar Yoga repertoire one often forgets the asanas that specifically focus on the abdominal muscles. In this workshop, we will explore the abdominal and arm balancing asanas that are specifically designed to strengthen the abdominal walls, ‘the core’.
With Anneke, you will have fun exploring different approaches that lead to confidence. These types of poses may be challenging, but they are also known to strengthen the body, improve one’s coordination and from a health perspective, and increase bone density – so they are very important!
As part of the “Step it Up” series, we will explore the core and use its strength as a central hub to find a more mobile, strong, and balanced body and mind.
Appropriate for students with a minimum of 6 months Iyengar yoga practice. Not appropriate for students during their menstrual cycle.
