October 13 – 15, 2017
hosted by Adeline Yoga Studio in Berkeley
According to the texts of Hatha Yoga and Tantra our subtle body, the suksma shariram, is made up of a tapestry of subtle channels (nadis) and energetic wheels, or chakras. The symbol of the chakras range from animals to deities, colours and geometrical figures (yantras) portraying rich elemental and spiritual meaning.
In this weekend workshop we will explore the muladhara, svadhistana and manipuraka chakra, interweaving theory with mantra practice and Sanskrit. We will also look at the creation of “sacred space” or altar in accordance with the five tanmatras and five mahabhutas (elements). There will be set aside time for self-practice of asanas in accordance with the chakras studied.
