Dive into the empowering practice of arm balancing! Whether you’re just starting to consider how you might do arm balances, or already love flying around the room, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to practice under expert guidance.
We know a lot of you are curious about how to do arm balances, but need a little more know-how as well as strength and mobility before taking flight. Ramona will help you develop the necessary skills to get you on your way!
In this workshop you will learn:
We will start with the basics of lolasana and then progress up to variations of bhujasana and bhujapidasana.
You can expect to learn how to come in and out of these poses safely, and get a good sense of where both the mobility and strength needs to come from within your body and mind. After the workshop, you will be able to practice these poses at home and feel like you can practice them when they appear in class.
Who is this program for? It is best for students who have some yoga experience, who regularly attend continuing beginner and intermediate classes. Its not well suited if you have acute injuries.

Ramona Atanacio (she/her) is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher. She first began a daily practice in law school to support her busy and active lifestyle. Ramona’s love for the practice grew as she learned that the study of yoga, and the discovery of the mind and body, was limitless. This led her to deepen her study of yoga through an initial teacher training program and Ashtanga yoga, which eventually led to Iyengar Yoga. She has found Iyengar Yoga to bring a much greater awareness and focus to her practice and life.
Ramona likes to teach an Iyengar Yoga class that is approachable, invigorating, and fun, while also blending therapeutic and restorative elements of yoga. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking Indian food in an Instant Pot and learning new dance moves.
